Mini mission in Batu Kawa Kuching

Mini mission in Kuching on October 19, 2014

I woke up at 7 in the morning and get ready to go to Church (Kuching District Center). It was surprised when my uncle still recognize the way we got there. So I’m so excited to meet with the members and the elders there. I’m so surprised when Brother Paul (Elder Lamat) can identify who I am. That seems we have met before but not. We just keep in touch in facebook and know each other by facebook only. He is so friendly. When I came to Church Brother Paul say “Lawren is coming!” and I so surprised. I felt so welcomed when he was saying that. I’m got Church and I just only know elder Allen. I help my auntie to get some water because she is easy to get hydration and need some water. I shake hand with some elders there. We were starting our sacrament meeting at 9.30 in the morning. Brother Paul asked me how I get home. So, I say “My uncle will pick up me after church.” Brother Paul said “do you have any activity after church? Can you follow me today? We’ll go to my house to eat and I will send you home after done. Are you okay?” so, I’m okay. We were finished our sacrament meeting at 10.40 and I follow elder Tok and elder Allen ask me to enter the class “Jom masuk kelas lah.” Then elder I follow elder Allen and elder Tok follow me. Then we go to elder’s quorum class and they’re speaking in English (Oh my goodness!) but that’s okay la. Then elder Allen asked me “Do you want to talk with us about something right?” I say “Wait the minutes, let me ask elder Jackson about that. It’s about temple, do you have temple class before?” Elder Allen say “Yeah! We did but I think we were finished it”

After church brother Paul bring us to get his house. We are talk a lot such as we are very close. Haha. We sat and talked so much in his house (like 2 hours) after that we get elder Mix and elder Rabing in their condominium (In kota Sentosa area). I ask elder Rabing about his background and when elder Rabing asked my name then I say “My name is Lawren and I am from Sibu.” Then elder Rabing tried to recognize because before he go to mission he said “I think I’d heard your name and where you come from before. Do you know elder Takin’s and elder Crum’s and also Nancy?” and I say “Yes! I do know them. Elder Crum’s was serving in my area in Sibu as Zone Leader too. Elder Takin is my friend even though we’re never meet but we had contact each other. But talk about Nancy, how do you know my name from her?” and elder Rabing said “Actually Nancy always talked about you and she’s close with elder Takin’s and she also always share your story with us before I going to serve in Johor Bahru.” That was surprising me! (In my mind I’d 3W questions in my mind WHY, WHAT, HOW) but that is okay. Finally we were arrived at home like 30 minutes after their condominium. In brother Paul house we need to put our shoes in the top before his dog’s bit our shoes. Haha. After we just arrived we saw elder Tok and Trudo was arrived earlier than us then following by elder Allen and Chang. We ate the foods and we were enjoying it! Chicken Curry (tasty), sambal, cucumber and so on. Well actually before eat I want to eat some fruits and after ate I just sit and not drinking some water because that not good for health but “NOT” for that day. We all done and we just talking with each other. Elder Allen asking me “Lawren can you us today?” then I say “Let see, what time is it?” “Well, macam pukul 6, kalau kami bawa extra basikal bolehkah kamu ikut? (Like 6 o’clock, if we bring extra bike could you follow us?)” Then I say “Umm, boleh saya rasa (I think so). How far is it?” and he said “Aaa, like 30 minutes kalau pakai basikal ke sana (Like 30 minutes to get there).” and I say “Okay”. After 20 minutes later I see elder Allen “Ke sana ke sini ke mari” like uncomfortable. Finally he calls and tells to Brother Paul to ask to follow him and Brother Paul says “Tengoklah, kalau saya mau.” (That is a funny responds). Elder Allen said “You can bring Lawren and we meet at Batu kawa lama street.” and all is going good. We went to Batu Kawa Lama Streets at 7 o’clock. We went to Brother Ivan, Sister Mariana and Florida house and we teach them about “The plan of salvation”. When we ask sister Florida to opening prayer but she don’t want to do so. She said “Enggai aku!” and we just laughing and the elder Allen tried to say “Eng’gai” but it change to “Eng ngai” but Brother Paul ask him to say it slow and finally he made it lah. Haha (So silly) when we asked elder Chang say it and he say it right. What?! Haha. He’s very smart. Sister Mariana is a volunteer (opening prayer) before our lesson. When Elder Chang asked me to explain a bit about the spirit world and degrees of glory and my mind was stuck just because I think so much about something. Oh my gosh! I ask Brother Paul to help me some and Brother Paul (Elder Lamat) very good explanation and he act so silly (every single minute’s). They was chooses me to pray and suddenly elder Chang got confused and he act so funny lah! (Because he confused who is giving a close prayer). We were done at 9 and we have taken some photo of us. What a wonderful day! That was so cool! Brother Paul sent me to home and he’s so kind and friendly.
